Summary/Abstract: The aim of this study was to assess the involvement of people with intellectual disabilities in community life. This paper analyzes the results of the study, which involved 163 respondents (M=85,Z= 77). The largest number of respondents (N = 101) are in the age of 35 years and makes 62.3% of the study population. Studying school subjects, the largest number of persons, 37.9% attended a school for special programs. Also, they are 53.8% (N = 86) living in urban areas. The convenient sample is consisted of respondents from all over the Croatian. For purposes of this study used a questionnaire that was designed for the purposes of the project of “Social position ofpeople with disabilities in the Republic of Croatia ” who conducted the Department of Social Work for the Ministry ofFamily, Veterans and Intergenerational Solidarity. We investigated the association of involvement of people with intellectual disabilities with supportive / non supportive environment and with same factors support in crisis situations. Survey results showed the absence of a statistically significant association involvement in the community with supportive7 non supportive environment and on the other hand, the relationship was found between community involvement and support factors in crisis situations.
