Summary/Abstract: In this article definition of the concept "choice", a condition of its realization, the place of this category in structure of readiness for valuable self-determination of high school students is opened. Valuable orientations are vectors of moral personality’s consciousness. The choice is a key component of valuable self-determination, it is defined by the system of personality values, her social position, sense of responsibility and duty, emotions character, freedom manifestation . An opportunity to choose these or those facilities, to set definite purposes, to choose activity conditions gives a freedom to the person. Freedom is defined as a possibility of implementation of the choice: if person has an opportunity to choose, then he is free. Freedom turns the choice into conscious and responsible act both before itself, and before others. Senior pupils ability and readiness for implementation of the responsible choice can be formed in school days, but for this purpose young people need to seize freedom factor algorithm. Readiness for valuable self-determination is defined by the choice fact, makes active personal forces of the seniorpupil, induces it to commission of the choice or refusal of it that is also manifestation of freedom of choice.
