Summary/Abstract: Emerging transformations in work and employment are associated with a number of changes in career development, understood as a process of increasing and demonstrating people’s potential to perform new, more complex work tasks in line with requirements in a diverse organizational environment. Long-term relationships between organizations and employees gradually reduced, and in the psychological contract emphasis moved from offering careers with secure jobs for all in the company to providing of opportunities for emloyees to improve their competences as a prerequisite for sustainable integration in the labor market. The main objective of this study is to explore and systemize key activities through which the the organization provides support to the career development of employees in the context of the need to continually update and improve people’s competences and employability. Two relatively specific research tasks are implemented to achieve the stated goal: presenting main changes in modern careers and systematization of key activities for organizational support of career development. Various research methods are used, among which are desk-researc and analysis of the focused interviews results conducted with employees with appropriate knowledge about the career development in the organizations. In the context of the stated goal, three key areas of activities are synthesized through which the organization supports career development: providing of training opportunities; opportunities for new, incl. more complex work tasks/jobs; regular feedback on individual performance and personal guidance for career development.
