Summary/Abstract: Roger Penrose, a great British physicist, formulated in 2004 the theory that mathematics, material world and human conscience would constitute the structural elements of the universe, and that it is a mystery how the three elements (Matter, energy and movement) interact together to create the universe we inhabit. How does conscience appear? This question was asked by Plato when he presented the world of ideas, admitting that it was a mystery. Science still has no answer beyond the acceptance of God the Creator. (Penrose, 2004) In his work „Mathematics and the Divine”, Ian Mueller, a specialist in ancient Greek philosophy, says that the world of ideas belongs to the domain of divine. Conscience does not manifest itself as a physical presence, although its images and thoughts mysteriously guide our physical daily life. (Bergmans, 2004) Because he could not find a place for it in his scientific materialism, Daniel Dennett, an atheist philosopher, denied the existence of human conscience. (Dennett, 1991) Another renowned philosopher, Thomas Nagel, wrote in 2012 that because conscience cannot be explained based on materialist philosophy, we must no longer use scientific materialism to try to explain human existence. Human conscience is an argument in favor of God’s existence. (Nagel, 2012)
