Summary/Abstract: In the requirements` context of art. 78, para. 2. and para. 3. of the Higher Education Act regarding the quality assessment of PH.D. programs in the papers are presented and analyzed results of a study of contentment of Ph.D. students from the Faculty of Pedagogy at SWU „Neofit Rilski“ on the quality of their training. The selected criteria are relevant to the development of dissertation research, the acquisition of research competencies, the interaction between Ph.D. student and supervisor and training environment. The results are analyzed by the independent variable “status” of the trained persons: “defended dissertation” and“trainees”.
