Summary/Abstract: Bulgarian composer Ivan Spassov’s researches and experiments are in the field of timbre and its accentuation as a fundamental means of expression. Timbre acquires autonomous meaning and operates as a morphological factor, developing sonority as a contemporary compositional technique. The symbiosis of diaphony and individual timbre plays a thematic role that is crucial to the overall construction of musical form.
