Summary/Abstract: About the activity of the nationally and internationally renowned scientist and professor Dr. Ioan Cantacuzino (1863–1934), many materials have been written and published, partially reproduced in the bibliography. Nicolae Iorga (1871–1940) said in 1936: „He was the complete embodiment of human power, will and intelligence”. On the occasion of the celebration of the Centenary of his birth, in the volume published in 1965 by the Academy of the Socialist Republic of Romania (RSR) it was stated: „Professor I. Cantacuzino was one of the most illustrious scientific and cultural personalities that the Romanian people revealed”. Participant in the First World War, as a doctor and organizer of the fight against cholera epidemics and exanthematic typhus, among the Romanian, French, Russian troops, civilian population and doctors (employed in their noble mission during the Great War), I. Cantacuzino distinguished himself by making and administering the necessary vaccines and sera. For his exceptional activity during the war, he was awarded several French and Romanian distinctions. After the war, Professor I. Cantacuzino and Nicolae Titulescu (1882–1941),signed the Treaty of Trianon, (June 4, 1920) on behalf of Romania. This treaty was of vital importance for the formation and internationalrecognition of Greater Romania. After discussing the life and activity of Professor I. Cantacuzino before and during the First World War in a previous publication, this paper presents the main aspects of his activity as a scientific researcher in the years 1920–1934, at the Pasteur Institute in Paris, and in Romania, until the end of his life, at the Institute that bears his name. We also refer to the continuity of his scientific contributions after his death, in the interwar period and even today.
