Summary/Abstract: We live in what many have called the "century of speed", and it is precisely rush that guides parents to bring their children, in as short a time as possible, to academic performances as high as possible. The parents' vision of the future of their children is embellished and centres on their desire that children occupy positions with a higher social-economic status. Competitive parenting and conscious parenting phenomena seek to clarify and explain the new parenting education trends, childcare requirements and impact on children's personality development.
