Summary/Abstract: Divorce is a phenomenon with an intense dynamics for families without children as well as for those with one or more children. Specialty literature offers multiple data, studies and quantitative and qualitative explanations of this complex phenomenon. The current study aims, however, to emphasize the powerful emotional impact this events has upon children from the families that choose the path of dissolution. The synthesis of our presentation can be formulated more simply as two ideas - refocusing the attention of officially or unofficially separated parents onto their children; and educating them to resort to specialized help to overcome and solve as safely and smoothly as possible the emotional unbalances with serious consequences in the lives of their children.
