Summary/Abstract: The present article aims to describe the school of compilation of Lithuanian dialect dictionaries the formation of which covers the period from the end of the 20th century till the beginning of the 21st century. This article reviews fifteen dialect dictionaries published in 1944–2017: periodization, structure (volume, types of presentation of lexis), geographical distribution, which reflects the aim of the preservation of border dialects and subdialects for scientific and educational purposes.
