Summary/Abstract: By integrating Muslim immigrants coming mainly from Afghanistan, Syria, Iraq, Caucasus, Lithuanian society is inevitably facing cultural differences determined by values and different lifestyles deriving from completely different ethnic origin, religion, education and social status. Gender anthropology concentrates on social interactions affected by peoples’ gender, identity, roles and other aspects that are overseen when looking from the general perspective. By employing anthropological approaches and ethnographical considerations of differences in values and lifestyles, this paper provides an opportunity to take a closer look at the cross-border encounters of asylum as ‘engendered sphere’.
