Summary/Abstract: When discussing advertising techniques we have to take into consideration that they use mass-media as a source of information and access for a great number of people. In fact, advertising is a way to communicate, with a large number of potential consumers, about a product, a service, or a....politician. The aim is always to sell, the product, or the politician. This is why we may consider political advertising a branch of traditional advertising. We only change what we sell and we adapt the discourse to a social dimension. The only problem is that when selling a politician, we may not buy what we see and hear. Political advertising is more manipulating than usual advertising and is more likely to fail, if not well taken care of and done by highly specialised consultants.
