Summary/Abstract: More and more frequently a number of political scientists, sociologists, politicians or even businessmen have growing reservations about the idea of national interest. “Something there” says her pointing out that invoking the national interest is nothing more than a manipulation intended to cover more than just the interests of power or those of certain political and economic leaders. Other opinions evoke problems of a technical nature: the national interest in their view is much too complex to be defined or used analytically, so even if there were such an interest, a country that would lie beyond rational comprehension, the multitude of variables that are involved in making it useless as standard. Lastly, a third category of criticism is given by those who accept the existence of national interest but reject its manifestation because it is “destructive” of the national egoism, which stands as a source of tension and conflict in the modern world. In spite of all these critics and pessimists, it remains impossible to contest the fact that at least the major nations of the world coordinate the analysis and tracking of their national interests throughout the organization and across the functioning of institutions and groups of highly structured strategy that are well funded. And not just the great nations.
