Summary/Abstract: Talking about employment, can we talk about strictly professional and strong criteria? What is the graduates’ from faculties of journalism level of training and general and specific knowledge? This study refers to the students’ – young aspirants to the journalist status – cultural and educational background. We analyzed the students’ from the Faculty of Journalism-“Hyperion“ University level of training and their psycho-socio-cultural characteristics, from the manager’s point of view, connected to the professional requirements of the European Union. I think we must look for “crisis solutions” and I tried to outline some elements to improve the students’ level of performance and to prepare the future journalists for the “confrontation” with employers in the Romanian press. Regarding long-term solutions, I find out but one: to make better the high school education.
