Summary/Abstract: The texts portrays the efforts of the international community, embodied In the European Community and the United Nations, to create a legal framework which could justify a political will aiming at dissolution of the former Yugoslavia into six states having the administrative borders of former federal units. The beginning of this process was outlined at the Hague conference on Yugoslavia, while a further elaboration of this concept was provided by Badinther’s commission. With heip of an extraordinary juridical gymnastics which neglected unpleasant facts and pretended that "yugoslav federation was in the state of dissolution" (the opinion No. 1), the commission produced an opinion th a t" the right of self-determination must not include a change of existing borders" (the opinion No. 2), and treated the existing administrative borders as borders of states (the opinion No. 3).
