Summary/Abstract: The article is actually the first part of a larger study "Social Control in Sociological Theory", and it deals with sociological attempts to construct general systematic concepts of control in society. Social control, as analytic category, has been incorporated into sociology from it’s very beginning. The idea of S.C. was the pivot in all analysis of social organization and rise of industrial society. In early sociological theories S.C. was overall ground for analyzing social order, which itself was in the core of interest of XIX century sociology. This was aimed to prove the existence of possibilities for establishing social order in which certain desirable moral principles and political ideals would be realized, and which would be also properly organized and regulated.
