POPULATION CLIMATE ON LOW FERTILITY REGION OF SERBIA

Summary/Abstract: The paper is a contribution to the investigation of the population policy acceptance in the lowfertility region of Serbia. The data analyzed were collected by means of a sample survey of a personal interview type constituting an adjusted version of the previously conducted Population Policy Acceptance Survey Questionnaire. As it was impossible to conduct a representative survey for the whole region, the sample surveyed was made up of 201 women under 40, selected from Belgrade subpopulation who decided to terminate pregnancies. Results of the previous survey questionnaire which aimed to analyze causes of a large number of abortions in the low-fertility region of Serbia, had indicated that this subpopulation could be the target group in a survey on population policy.
