SCOPE AND STRUCTURE OF SOCIOLOGICAL LITERATURE IN SERBIA: 1986-1996

Summary/Abstract: In the period between 1986 and 1996 a total of 450 book titles from the field of sociology were published in Serbia: 65 proceedings, 203 monographies, 152 textbooks and 30 translations. The majority of published books were published in the great university centres: Belgrade, Novi Sad and Niš. Ten publishers, in all, have published 266 of the total number of books. Most of the book titles have been from the field of the fundamental sociological disciplines (general sociology, history of the sociological theories, sociology in the world, social development, social crises, social conflicts). In this period there were published 13 scientific sociological periodicals.
