Application of transportation model for rationalization of water supply in the region

Summary/Abstract: Many regions in Poland have inaccurate structure of water extraction places. The points of extraction didn’t change since a very long time generating high costs of acquirement and production of water. During the economy transformation important changes in water demand geography succeeded. As a result it is important to reshape the water extraction and distribution network, so that it responds to new demand. In the article author propose to use simple and useful optimization approach for the process of rationalization of water extraction points localisation in the region. The subject of interest are the chosen communes in West Pomeranian region. The solution of this dilemma can highly influence changes in geography of water extraction points and in consequence lower water price for end users.
