Summary/Abstract: In a narrower sense, socially responsible business as a result of strict provisions of the law is an obligation for business entities, and this does not define it as a philanthropic activity. Today’s view is that the economic activity of business entities is not socially responsible unless there is a social component that fulfils the needs of wider community. The legal framework for corporate social responsibility is not systematically regulated in the Federation of Bosnia and Herzegovina. Although dispersed, this field, however, offers enough room to form the conclusion that companies in the Federation of Bosnia and Herzegovina could be characterised as socially responsible, with this concept being understood in a narrower sense.
