Summary/Abstract: The article is dedicated to the personality of Louis Braille, the inventor of a tactile alphabet that has remarkably changed the quality of life of the people who are visually impaired. Due to his innovation they have been able to access education and communicate in its full sense. This topic is not so frequent in Slovak literature. Therefore, the author introduces three translations of Braille´s biographies (J. Bryant, B. Kulikov: Six Dots. A Story of Young Louis Braille; M. Davidson: Louis Braille. The Boy Who Invented Books for the Blind; J. Streit: Louis Braille. Ein blinder Junge erfindet die Blindenschrift) and one radio play (With her own wings). All of them are intended for young as well as adult readers.
