Summary/Abstract: There are a lot of translation studies departments operating in different foreign languages in Turkey. It still remains one of the main debates how to apply teaching practices in these departments. Addressing the issue in a more professional and systematic way can shed light on the completed and forthcoming studies in the field. Today, a growing number of corporations and academic units regard quality concept as one of the most significant criteria in their work flow. Likewise, translator education field must be regarded as an important field in which quality management needs to be assured when we take political, economic, cultural and technological aspects of translator education into consideration. In the present study, the factors affecting quality in translator education are initially identified and then their structures and characteristic features are described. After that, the positive and negative sides of these factors are detected and the features which need to be improved are questioned. In this way, this research aims to form a basis for the further studies in translator education.
