Summary/Abstract: Purpose – The purpose of this study is to determine the effect of hotel employees' organizational ostracism perceptions on organizational cynicism levels. For this purpose, as a result of the survey conducted for employees in five-star hotel enterprises operating in Afyonkarahisar, organizational ostracism perceptions of employees and perceptions of organizational cynicism and the relationship and effects of these perceptions with each other were revealed, discussed and suggestions were provided to interested parties. Design/methodology/approach – The sample of the study was composed of 573 employees working in five-star hotels operating in Afyonkarahisar. In the analysis of the data collected by the survey technique, descriptive statistics (frequency, percentage, arithmetic mean and standard deviation), factor and reliability analysis, correlation and simple linear regression analysis were used. Findings – According to the results of the study, it was determined that both the ostracism perception and organizational cynicism levels of the hotel employees of were lower. Also, a moderate level of relationship was observed between the surveyed hotel employees’ perceptions on organizational ostracism and the levels of organizational cynicism, and according to the results of the regression analysis it was determined that employees' organizational ostracism perceptions affect their organizational cynicism perceptions. Discussion – The results of the study revealed that perceptions of organizational ostracism and organizational cynicism were realized at a low level. The presence of these perceptions has been interpreted as a clue in the sense of determination of future losses and preventing these losses. Also in this study, it was determined that there was a positive, medium relationship between organizational ostracism and organizational cynicism and that a unit increase in organizational ostracism resulted in an increase in organizational cynicism by 0,553 units. In this direction, research hypothesis developed in accordance with the subject and purpose of the research was supported. In addition, the findings of the study in the literature overlap these results. However, because of the limited studies in the literature related to the subject, more and detailed studies are required.
