Summary/Abstract: In order to survive, organizations compete in a rapidly changing market environment. In such an environment, it is very important for organizations to increase their performance. Organizations that want to compete effectively and improve their performance should increase the value they give to their employees. In this study, where motivation and reward is accepted as the value given to the employee of the organization, it is examined how the employee performance is affected by motivation and reward. For this purpose, data were collected from 268 health care workers working in a public hospital in Giresun and analysis were made by means of structural equation modeling. According to the results of path analysis, it was seen that rewarding had a positive effect on employee motivation (H1:β=0,392, p=0,001) and employee motivation had a positive effect on employee performance (H2:β=0,378, p=0,001). In addition, according to the findings of the path analysis on the basis of sub-dimensions, the presence of a directional effect was determined on the extrinsic motivation of internal reward (H1b: β=0,212, p 0,01), the work performance of extrinsic motivation (H2c:β=0,014, p>0,01) and on contextual performance (H2d: β=0,052, p>0,01) was found to have no significant effect.
