Summary/Abstract: The paper presents the findings of a cognitive survey carried out among 501 preadolescents in the town of Frosinone. Addressing the complex issue of bullying and cyberbullying, we would like to emphasise the primary role of virtual conditionings, enhanced through traditional modes, often in continuity with the electronic form. The research shows that twelve-year old youngsters reveal strong tendencies to get involved in bullying episodes. As regards asymmetric relationships, the findings highlight the key role of adults, such as teachers and parents, as principal interlocutors on the phenomenon of violence, both traditional and virtual. The survey enabled us to define the educational needs of preadolescents and propose some specific preventive initiatives.
