Summary/Abstract: The Memorial Acclamation (acclamation after the consecration) of the Roman rite of Mass, introduced by the Holy See in 1968, has been received in a variety of ways in different languages and local Churches. The translations of the acclamations into modern languages have in some cases taken similar approaches while substantial changes in the texts are also noticed. Examining three European languages into which the Memorial Acclamation has been received – English, French and Polish – the author examines the different approaches to translation and adaptation of their literary structure.
