Summary/Abstract: To solve the human rights challenge of living in penury by some people, 189 countries gathered at the United Nations Office, New York, in September, 2000, conceived and signed the Millennium Declaration known as Millennium Development Goals (MDGs). Many-countries like Nigeria fully embraced these goals as operational targets for their development agenda, but Nigeria’s progress in this direction is not fully captured in the MDGs report. The purpose of this study was to determine the extent of implementation of MDGs in the Federal Capital Territory, Abuja as Socio-economic developmental programme. A survey design was used in this study. A 10-item structured questionnaire was administered on a random sample of 315 respondents, to provide data for the study. The instrument was validated and had a reliability index of 0.82 Cronbach’s Alpha. Two research questions were answered using simple percentages and two hypotheses were tested at .05 level of significance using independent t-test. Findings indicate a significant difference in socio-economic development of FCT before and after the implementation of MDG.
