Summary/Abstract: Language has an important social impact, working as a way for people to communicate their values, beliefs and traditions. Through all history, language has been, for Albanians, more than for any other Balkani population, the main factor of identification. The Albanian diaspora has played and plays an irreplaceable role in the preservation and transmission of the cultural and spiritual values of our country, with its tentatives to preserve the Albanian language and our traditions, in order to enlargen the cultural and spiritual span of Albanians. Using a study that we conducted with Albanian teachers in Sweden, we've realised how the identity is preserved and transmitted through spoken language, as well as intercultural competency, by highlighting main parts of one's life, their original way of living, traditions as well as their behaviour in important events, like wedding ceremonies, looking at, for example, the way of singing and dancing.By focusing their work in two main clauses; intercultural integration and creativity, through didactic materials, Albanian teachers in Sweden raise the idea that a nation's culture is the mirror which reflects all of their values and traditions. In our work, we've also brought and studied elements that show us how, in a bilingual context, (Swedish-Albanian) the linguistical ability of the Albanian people is transmitted through intercultural competency.
