EVALUATION OF TEACHERS ‘VIEWS ON THE USE OF KNOWLEDGE AND SKILLS IN OCCUPATIONAL LIFE

Summary/Abstract: The purpose of this study is to examine the status of teaching and learning skills acquired during the violin teaching process, which is one of the individual music lessons in the departments of the faculties of education faculties according to the views of the instructor. The missing aspects of the use of knowledge and skills that are aimed to be acquired in violin education courses in the departments that train music teachers are determined as the problem of the research. In this study where qualitative research methods are preferred, the content analysis is used as a research technique. instructor of violin education of the population of the research branches of the Department of Music Education in Turkey, the sample would take into seven geographical regions has created the 11 lecturers from 22 universities. Questions were asked to faculty members about the use of knowledge and skills acquired in the face-to-face semi-structured violin teaching process in the professional life. Cohen’s coefficient of reliability of the interview questions was calculated as an = .60 (95% CI, -0.02 to .999. As the reason for the incompatibility, the highest level of “incompetence of knowledge and skills” has been reported, and as a solution proposal, the introduction of Turkish melodies in the curriculum has been reported.
