Summary/Abstract: With the rapid change and transformation of science and technology, the individual’s needs, learning and teaching methods, forms of communication, and even the perspectives progress and in the same direction as this rapid transformation and start to acquire a permanent place in the circumstances of that period. The achievements of the Elementary School Music Teaching Program, which was updated in 2017 and finally it was published in January, 2018, are collected in four learning areas. Achievements associated with singing skills in learning areas are the main theme of this research. Therefore, through this research; it is aimed to determine the expectations of the music teachers about the singing ability which is an important sub-skill of music on the basis of the updated “Elementary Music Lesson Teaching Program”. Phenomenology model which a qualitative research technique was used in the study. The data of the study were obtained through a semi-structured interview form prepared by the researcher. The opinions of 10 music teachers that employee in elementary school selected by random method were analyzed by descriptive analysis technique. In order to improve the singing ability of the students, it is among the expectation of the teachers to provide suitable environment, learning to listen the music, to create rhythmic and melodic tones, to increase the music lesson hours, to enter music lessons in primary school music lessons.
