Summary/Abstract: The article depicts home construction in Banská Štiavnica in the period of socialism with a focus on mass home construction. It presents directional city local plans and their accomplishment through housing estate that are described there in more detail. It also expounds on city housing policy marked by housing crisis lasting for three decades, participation of local indrustrial enterprises in construction and points to limited possibilities of citizens to influence socialist construction and the process of flat allocation.
