Summary/Abstract: The aim of this study was to explore health professionals’ knowledge and attitudes towards breastfeeding best practices recommended by WHO and UNICEF and to review their readiness for cooperation with „mother to mother“ support groups. A sociological survey was carried among 72 health professionals (bachelor students from the Medical University of Sofia and practicing midwives and nurses) using a selfadministered questionnaire. Data was analyzed using SPSS 13.
