„IDENTITATEA” MIORIŢEI
The Identity of Mioriţa.

Summary/Abstract: This study is my third one regarding the identity ofMioriţa. In my fist piece, I synthetically addressed Bulandra’s bold research on Mioriţaalso underling a certain difficulty of his theory. In my second paper I displaied morewidely Bulandra’s theory within a redesigned framework, stressing on its shortcomingsand considering the importance of certain types of solutions, aiming at the major stakeof Mioriţa. In the present text, as we provide some ajustments to the theory to solvethose difficutlies, we also reconsidered some of his main ideas, argumentative strategiesand claims that are supporting the assumption that Mioriţa is not a folkloric piece, but itis a shinning piece of literature written by Alecsandri. Therefore, here, we outline theultimate importance of the „expanatory function” and its link with „the test of recognizingthe sources”, that Bulandra brilliantly developed in his book. Not only for the reasonsmentioned above, for a proper understanding of the issue of „the birth process” ofMioriţa and my viewpoint, I suggest that one must consider toghether Bulandra’sresearch and my three studies.
