Summary/Abstract: The main objective of macroeconomic policies is the simultaneous provision of internal and external equilibrium. For this reason, current account, which is an external balancing element, is a very important element that gives direction to economic and political policies. Providing the external balance in the economy implies the sustainability of the current account balance. The current account deficit has created a serious problem in recent years not only in underdeveloped countries but also in developing countries. The fact that a sustainable current account does not create serious problems for countries brings about a debate on this issue. The purpose of this study is to examine the sustainability of the current deficit in fifteen selected OECD countries between 1995 and 2015 by panel unit root and panel cointegration analysis.
