Summary/Abstract: RESEARCH OBJECTIVE: The main objective of the study was to verify whether there is an interaction between education profile of research groups and their preferences of risk taking. THE RESEARCH PROBLEM AND METHODS: Participants of the study came from two paths of studies: finance and marketing. Preferences of the risk taking were measured with standardized psychological questionnaires. Additionally, the level of chosen control variables were taken into consideration. THE PROCESS OF ARGUMENTATION: The decision making is an inherent part of the everyday life. An integral element of the decision making process is the concept of risk. The risk attitude can differ depending on the sphere of live. Preferences of the risk taking may change with experience and competences acquired in the educational process. The risk perception can be modified according to the discipline of our specialization. RESEARCH RESULTS: The results of the study revealed significant differences in the risk taking tendency between the study groups with different educational profiles. CONCLUSIONS, INNOVATIONS, AND RECOMMENDATIONS: During the education process an important role play psychological aspects, which are not often appreciated. In this study, a few psychological mechanism are taken into consideration, which have influence not only in the economy, but also during education.
