Summary/Abstract: The paper analyses and discusses the Middle Bronze Age tumular necropolis Dubac in Jančići, near Čačak (Serbia), as well as some other contemporary necropolises in the Kablar range and other regions of West Serbia. The aim of the study was to use the archaeological and bio-anthropological data in order to test possibility to correlate sex/gender perceived as physical condition and the model of socially conditioned male/female graves, based on the grave inventory and architecture. The Dubac necropolis was most suitable for the purpose, because bio-anthropological analysis was done for most of the graves. It was possible to determine some solid gender indicators and to get an insight into gender relations in the society who buried their dead in the necropolis.
