Summary/Abstract: The increasing price of electricity and heat make us more and more often seek alternative energy sources. Energy security can be provided among others by the construction of farm biogas plants. Agricultural biogas plants are technical installations for the production and use of biogas. Investment in agricultural biogas plants is a great opportunity for the development of rural areas. However, the ongoing work on agricultural biogas plants face many problems. This paper presents the main benefits and barriers associated with agricultural biogas plants.
