SOCIAL AND PHYSICAL BACKGROUND IN THE RENOVATION AREAS: KÜÇÜKPAZAR EXAMPLE

Summary/Abstract: The purpose of this research; the definition of a sustainable proposal is to define appropriate intervention methods within the framework of urban protection in the Küçükpazar sub-region within the boundaries of the Suleymaniye Renewal Area in the Historic Peninsula of Istanbul. Under this objective, the structural and socio-economic situation of urban renewal and urban transformation is examined through this region and an approach to shed light on future conservation practices. The socio-cultural and physical structure of the Küçükpazar sub-region has been examined in order to the rehabilitation instead of ve renewal in the sub-heading of urban protection. How the transformation began and researched was investigated. The preservation of the cultural heritage in the Küçükpazar subregion with the original characteristics and the preservation of the social texture with the aim of transformation into a qualified urban environment should be essential.
