Summary/Abstract: In these study the definition of the riwaq in different cultures and civilizations, whether there is a semiopen spaces, how they are named and their purposes will be explained briefly. In this context, the historical process of changes and transitions of the riwaqs in different periods will be studied to examine the relationship between function and form.
