Summary/Abstract: While paying a tribute to Tudor Ionescu‘s translational theory and practice, the following essay attempts a new perspective on translation highlighting the primary role of the senses and of emotional intelligence in the decision making as well as the crucial dimension of pragmatics. The visibility and voice of the translator are discussed summing up several translational models.
