ALBANIAN-FRENCH PHRASEOLOGY DICTIONARIES

Summary/Abstract: There are dozens of bilingual Albanian phraseology dictionaries. There are around 15 such dictionaries which from both, the general concept of phraseology and the subject of its lexicographic treatment have many typological similarities. The two phraseological dictionaries of the Albanian with the French, which are discussed in this study, bring various phraseological material, as well as different ways of semantic-structural identification in the other language. The paper deals briefly with "French - Albanian Phraseological Dictionary" (1998), compiled by Eqrem Shijaku and more broadly with "French - Albanian - French Dictionary" (2010), compiled by Daniel Xhoxhaj. With the special analysis and with sufficient examples from the second vocabulary, as well as with scientific interpretations according to the already known nature of phraseology in many studies in our country and elsewhere, the main directions of research regarding characteristic features of such dictionaries are selected. Bilingual Albanian-French phraseological dictionaries can also be scrutinized according to several lexical and lexicographical criteria, such as: What concept do the authors of dictionaries have for the phraseological unit and for linguistic phrasing in general?; to which concept adhere authors when dealing with "representative form" of the phraseological units; what lexicographic criteria are applied in the dictionary for the way of presenting phraseological units; how is semantically identified a phraseological unit of one language with the corresponding one to other language (with the structurally identical phraseological unit, with structurally similar phraseological units, with free explanation, with one word synonym, with paraphrasing); how are given semantic, emotional, expressive, lecture, historical nuances, etc .; is complete semantic and discursive identity given or only partially (with loss, especially in the overlapping nuances and in the use of discourse) by means of corresponding phraseological units or other explanatory means of the other language; is there a disproportion of phraseological fields in the vocabulary?; to what extent and how are used microtext and macrotexts of phraseological units in detecting their values beyond the identifying part with the above mentioned means and modes? These issues and others cannot be considered in total within the size of one study, but the most important can be grouped into three categories: a) Issues of identity of phraseology; b) issues of identification with the phraseology or the semantics of explanatory means of the other language; c) issues of lexicographic treatment in a bilingual phraseologic vocabulary. In this study the analysis and arguments as well as drawn scientific conclusions regarding Daniel Xhoxhaj's "French-Albanian-French Dictionary" are made according to these three issues.
