THE PERSONALITY OF SKANDERBEG IN THE RELIGIOUS ALBANIAN PRESS BETWEEN TWO WORLD WARS

Summary/Abstract: By browsing the magazines of our religious press between the two world wars, we can conclude that the common of these magazines is that Skanderbeg's personality is treated as a historical, national personality, leader and diplomat. Catholic magazines "Hylli i Dritës" and "Leka" to the volume of articles of Skanderbeg personality, have given more space, they have even published documents referring to Skanderbeg. On the other side, the Muslim magazines: "Zani i Naltë", "Kultura Islame" and "Njeriu", although they do not have any exclusive writing about Skanderbeg's personality, yet Skanderbeg has never been dubbed as our national hero. Moreover, these magazines do not forget and do not hesitate to publish portraits of Skanderbeg and ascertain the connection that the National Flag has with Skanderbeg. And whenever you write about the National Flag there is mention Skanderbeg, which, to exalt him even more, is compared to Alexander the Great. If our ancestors from religious communities correctly treated Scanderbeg as a national hero etc. If our predecessors from religious communities correctly treated Scanderbeg as a national hero etc., then there is no reason why today the press of Albanian religious communities to have a different opinion and attitude. And in the end, we are generally saying that the past of our religious communities has shown that both intellectual and textual as well as national aspects have been at the appropriate leveland in the right line.
