Summary/Abstract: After World War II, the attitude of the state to the Russian Orthodox Church in the Baltic region was much more negative than in the USSR in the whole.1 It was connected with the service of the Metropolitan of Lithuania and Vilna Sergius (Voskresensky; 1897–1944), Exarch of the Baltic States. During the war Pskov Orthodox Mission was created by him, its activities extended to the territory of Latvia and the north-west of Russia, occupied by the Nazis.
