Summary/Abstract: This study addresses the phenomenon of democracy in terms of political parties. It tries not to provide us with answers, but rather to pose questions. Is the traditional definition of the political party still in actuality? Can it provide us with an accurate perspective on current political organizations? Aditionally, the study explores the hypothesis of a specific democratic model, with a particular model of organization and functioning of the political parties, witch is characteristic solely to Central and Eastern Europe – a pattern in its own right, distinct from the Western model.
