Summary/Abstract: For a period of more than fifty years, prof. Kaufman has collected Jewish musical folklore – songs heard and written down in cities and synagogues, religious and secular, Ashkenazic and Sephardic, written by known people and “folk” ones. In about 2011 prof. Kaufman granted a part of his archive to the Jewish community in Sofia. Many of these songs are written as heard, but also many are arranged. These song transcriptions are written with great skill and professionalism; some of them were published in 2013 – including about 80 songs. These songs may be analysed by a variety of criteria. Some of them have been analysed by himself, but in his studies he does not discuss his own song transcriptions. This article deals with some of these songs.
