Summary/Abstract: The purpose of this paper is to describe the relations between Byzantine and Slavic medieval culture as the intretextual problem. The author suggests an interpretation of the terms commonly used in the structuralist theory: text, archytext, prototext, metatext (G. Genette). Relations between the Byzantine and Slovenian medieval culture are includes a complex of models: irreversible causality- transplantation culture relation (D.S. Lihachov), and selective reception of culture models (D. Obolensky). The methodological procedure is intended to determine the introductory basic attribute of South Slavic cultural metatext (resp. literary, artistic).
