Summary/Abstract: This paper presents the chronology of dynamic normative regulation of the protection of archival material and documentary material in SAP Vojvodina, with special reference to the novelties that are prescribed by law, and to the by laws regulations. This process points to the political will to protect the archival material as a cultural monument and to the regulated status and affairs of the archives. The same process should be considered within the framework of existence and work of the Archives Council at the Archives of Serbia, the Society of archives workers of Vojvodina and the Society of archives workers of Serbia, and the Community of the archives of Vojvodina and the Community of the archives of Serbia.
