Summary/Abstract: Designed by the European legislator as a model for the restructuring of European businesses operating in the common European market, the ED represents an adequate tool for the benefit of enterprises in a united Europe for the purpose of transnational mergers and unions of companies from different Member States, to facilitate the management of enterprises subject to different national legislations and to promote the competitiveness of enterprises on the international market .
