The Simple Future Tense in the Transformational Grammar of Serbo-Croat

Summary/Abstract: I show in this paper that the forms of simple future in Serbo-Croatian can be derived by two independently motivated transformations: Pronoun Drop and Enclictic Placement. This result is an important generalization about the structure of Serbo-Croatian sentences. It well illustrates the power of transformational analysis.
