Summary/Abstract: For centuries, human dignity has occupied an important place in the deliberations of a number of established authorities and personalities representing various fields of science: philosophy, sociology, ethics, economics and theology. It seems difficult to define what dignity really is but everybody who is aware of their own values but does not exalt themselves over others has dignity. Such people can indicate the goodness that life brings to other human beings and respect others. They respect themselves but also feel honor and pride. Also people who are deprived of these characteristics because of their physical or intellectual disability have dignity. The article presents a reflection on dignity, by looking at it through the prism of economy, society and man.
